Discover how to use GIS to characterize the shape of the landscape for hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) model inputs. In this course, you’ll learn the basic structure of the Arc Hydro data model. You’ll also learn about tools and concepts that will help you efficiently manage and use the data model to perform water resource analyses involving watersheds and floodplains. This course is designed for those who already understand the basics of water resource management and have had hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, but want to gain experience with applying Arc Hydro to developing H&H model inputs and mapping model results.

Goals
After completing this course, you will be able to:
  • Identify the utility of ArcGIS for water resources
  • Assess foundational data for analyzing terrain, hydrologic and hydraulic characteristics
  • Explore the Arc Hydro data model and related concepts and tools
  • Apply core and advanced tools within Arc Hydro to support watershed modelling and floodplain mapping
  • Share and visualize Arc Hydro processing results
Suggested Skills
Completion of ArcGIS Pro: Essential Workflows or Migrating from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro or equivalent knowledge. A general water resources background or experience with H&H analysis is recommended.
